"Dakshina Bharat Hindi prachar Sabha" was established in the year 1918 by our beloved father of the nation Mahatma Gandhiji with the sole aim of propagating Hindi in Southern States. The first pracharak was none other than Devadas Gandhi son of Mahatma Gandhiji. "Hindi prachara" was a moment that emerged as a part of the Freedom Movement and the leaders who led the Nation "FREE INDIA" felt the necessity of making a single Indian language the national language and through that language unifies the people and thereby intensify National Integration.1927 saw the emergence of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha agent independent organisation and Mahatma Gandhi was its president till he breathed his last.

The Prime Minister Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri while presenting the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha Bill, 1964 in the Parliament considered the slogan of this organization as "Ek Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Ho Ek Hridaya Ho Bharat Janani" and it was also discussed that the institution is not only a university but also a higher place as the main objective of this institution is to create a feeling of unity, integrity and preservation of the nation.

The Article 14 of the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha Act, 1964 says “Institution of National Importance” (Declared by the Parliament as an Institution of National Importance by Act, 14 of 1964).

Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha’s Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Law College, Koppal established in the year 2006. The college was inaugurated by the Law Minister Shri MP Prakash. Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha’s Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Law College is approved by Bar Council of India and Government of Karnataka and affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi.

The Law College started with the admission of students for the academic year 2006-07 and currently thousands of students have graduated from our Law College and are working as civil judges in various fields and it is the pride of our Law College.
